Previously known as Living on One — named after their film that has raised $1.5 million for the Pena Blanca community in Guatemala — they have since grown into a non-profit production company focused on creating impactful short documentaries. This past year, they rebranded as Optimist. With a new name and brand refresh, they needed a responsive website that could better highlight their work and mission.

Incorporating their rebrand
Optimist’s brand colors are both serious and bright —monochrome, with a splash of coral and aqua. Since we wanted to give full attention to the films and content, we opted to only using the colors for subtle highlights and hovers. Videos are viewed on a black background for a theatrical experience.

Guided storytelling
We wanted to inform visitors about Optimist’s impact through a story-driven interactive experience. The timeline highlights the various milestones before reaching its conclusion — that these contributions are not possible without individuals who join in on the Optimist movement.
